The White-tailed Deer

The White-tailed Deer. White-tailed Deer tracks.
The White-tailed Deer's keen eyes, speed and agility are it's best defences against it's major threats, which are wolves and humans. The White-tailed Deer is also a master of avoiding detection so observing it in the wild is extremely difficult. It's favourite habitat is at the edges of woodland areas and young forests with suitable cover so areas cleared for human habitation and industry often supports the vegetation that this deer favours. These foods include the leaves and twigs of evergreens, deciduous trees and brush in winter, and some grasses in spring and summer.
