THE NORTH VIEW SAULT COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE
Over the summer of 2001, the talk started that Sault Collegiate Institute would be demolished. Could it really happen that the school wouldn't be there anymore? It's just that the school was there forever, there on the hill looking out over the town.
In the late 1880's, Sault Ste. Marie was experiencing a boom. The Canadian Pacific Railway had come to town and the future seemed full of opportunity. The town needed a new school fit for opportunity, to educate the new anxious generations and prepare them for the promise of tomorrow.
